Regional Arts and Culture

The Regional Arts Policy is currently under review.  The new Action Plan will be available in 2010 and you will find all the details under Creating Value - An Arts and Culture Sector Policy Framework. 

The Department of Culture and the Arts recognises regional arts development as a priority.  We are committed to improving access to arts and culture and acknowledge the importance of finding new ways to support those who are producing world class work in regional, rural and remote locations.

Cultural Signposts – Directions for Arts and Culture in Regional  Western Australia was released by the State Government in July 2003.  This policy reflects Government and community aspirations for regional arts and culture and outlines strategies to achieve these aspirations.

Cultural Signposts – Highlights of the Journey 2003-2007 was released in October 2007 to celebrate the many achievements of those living in regional, rural and remote communities.
