This category aims to support the implementation of strategies to improve business viability or take your activities to a new level. Business Development is for individual designers or designer fashion organisations or Western Australian designer fashion in general.
Applications to this category need to be especially comprehensive with detailed, realistic budgets and convincing letters of support.

Selection Criteria
Priority will be given to those projects that are innovative and strategic, address the long-term, will benefit the Western Australian designer fashion industry as a whole and establish inter-industry sector cooperation.Applications to this category need to be especially comprehensive with detailed, realistic budgets and convincing letters of support.
Eligibility
Eligible expenses include any marketing-related costs such as airfares, freight, accommodation, PR agent costs, production of promotional materials and/or entry fees.Possible projects that could be supported in this category include
- The development of commercial strategies for designers and designer fashion businesses
- Campaigns to launch designer fashion product into new territories or distribute and promote new product in existing markets
- Programs or events that contribute to access to Western Australian designer fashion by new audiences
- Major first time solo show at a Fashion Week
- WA Designers to participate in a group showcase project at an interstate or international fashion event
- Industry networking workshops or industry based conference activity
- Establishing of an on-line sourcing database for equipment, suppliers etc.
- Proposals addressing issues of communication within the supply chain
- The cost of producing samples and garments is not an eligible expense.
- The Department will not meet 100 per cent of the cost of any project so your budget should clearly show your own contribution.
